On a recent trip to Paris, I chose to stay at the Hotel Ariane Montparnasse for a boutique style hotel experience. Located in Montparnasse and a few minutes walking distance from Pernety and Alecia metro stations, it was an ideal place to spend a night. The ease of the location meant that it was an easy ride on the metro into the centre of Paris. Not only this, but the hotel also included breakfast, which was much needed after spending the previous day wandering endlessly around the beautiful streets of Paris. An added bonus was in the free WiFi which worked well, even for us on the 4th floor of the hotel. Continue reading Hotel Ariane Montparnasse, Paris
Following a trip to Thailand visiting Bangkok, Koh Samui and then back to Bangkok, we chose to stay at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Central Bangkok. We had previously stayed at the Glow Trinity Hotel so decided to try elsewhere for comparison. Plus, the attraction of staying in Thailand’s tallest building had some appeal! Upon arrival at the hotel, we were immediately greeted with a busy reception area and a confusing concierge arrangement. This unfortunately contributed to what became a hectic and chaotic stay.
As part of our trip to Thailand, we went to Koh Samui for eight days to ensure that we were able to get a relaxing break with beach, sunshine and lots of relaxation. Whilst the island itself offered a lot of this, our resort, the relatively new Mantra Samui was a fantastic contribution. Continue reading Review of Mantra Samui Resort, Thailand
As part of a group trip to Thailand, I arranged a stay for my friends and I at the Glow Trinity Silom, Bangkok, prior to our departure for the island of Koh Samui. Continue reading Glow Trinity Silom Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand
As a treat for a weekend away, my boyfriend and I took a two night, three day break to Budapest staying at the Leonardo Hotel (formerly part of the Ramada group).
I had made the reservation for the hotel via Hotels.com at a fantastic price on a room only basis. Upon arrival on a Saturday afternoon, we were pleased to receive a warm welcome from the staff before being handed our room card for the suite on the 6th floor. Pleasantly the room was available slightly earlier than the usual check-in time of 3pm which was much appreciated after our trip to the country. We were offered room number 617 which was an upgrade from the standard double room that we had originally booked. Continue reading Leonardo Hotel, Budapest, Hungary
For a recent stay in Dublin, I needed somewhere close to the main shopping areas but affordable and offering a safe and quiet location to stay with my younger sister. After some research I decided upon the Best Western Academy Plaza located just off Upper O’Connell Street. As we had an early flight, I wanted to ensure that we had somewhere to store our luggage allowing us to get stuck into our sightseeing. Following an email and a ‘Tweet’ courtesy of Twitter, this was arranged as a much welcomed add-on for our stay. Continue reading Best Western Academy Plaza, Dublin, Ireland
I’ve been a little quiet for a couple of days as I had to do some travelling (UK only) with work. London to Somerset to Birmingham to Leeds to Liverpool to Birmingham and home to London. Fair to say I’m quite tired right now despite having just awoke in my latest hotel.
Now this is my very first time staying at a Holiday Inn Express, so I felt a blog post was needed as so far…. Well it’s pretty good! Continue reading Holiday Inn, Cavendish Street, Leeds, UK
During a recent trip to Brussels, I decided to stay at the Stanhope Hotel to enjoy a little bit of luxury during our relaxing two-night stay. Having made the reservation via Hotels.com we were looking forward to making the most of our visit to the city, whilst being based close to the centre enabling maximum time to be spent exploring rather than travelling around the city. On this occasion, location was everything. Continue reading Stanhope Hotel, Brussels, Belgium
I had the benefit of being able to visit the Mitsis Blue Domes resort in September for one week with my two best friends for what would be a girly holiday.
The location of the hotel is around 15mins drive from Kos town where there is nightlife, bars and the marina. This trip costs around £8 one way.
Upon arrival, we were thrilled to find that we were being accommodated in a beachfront Villa at the resort. This allowed us the benefit of our own pool and lounge areas as well as wine and fruit basket which was topped up each day. Continue reading Mitsis Blue Domes Resort, Kos, Greece
En route to Dubai to visit friends, we decided to stop off for two nights in Amsterdam allowing us a chance to explore parts of a city that neither my partner nor I had visited before.
We decided upon the NH Museum Quarter hotel as it was most suitable for our budget whilst offering the comfort that we were sure that we would need to see us through the remainder of our trip! Continue reading NH Museum Quarter, Amsterdam, Netherlands
