As a child my parents bought me a book about the White Witch of Rose Hall in Jamaica by Herbert G. de Lisser.
It’s a fascinating story about Annie Palmer, the former English owner of a plantation in Jamaica and her dictatorship over the lives of the slaves working on her land. There’s even a song written about the legend called “The Ballad of Annie Palmer” recorded by Johnny Cash. Continue reading Historical legends explored at Rose Hall, Jamaica

As part of a recent visit to India with the Nomadness Travel Tribe, I extended my stay for an additional three days to visit the Indian state of Goa, a former Portuguese province.
Having secured accommodation in North Goa, my friend and I were keen to explore as much of the state as possible within the limited time frame. Continue reading Top tips for a sightseeing tour in Goa, India

Situated at the top of the Royal Mile, next to Edinburgh Castle, The Scotch Whisky Experience takes visitors on a sensational journey of discovery into Scotland’s national drink.
I enjoyed the silver tour courtesy of the Scotch Whisky Experience, however I also chose to upgrade to the gold tour to get a full sampling experience of whisky; I’d highly recommend upgrading if possible to really make the most of this experience.

As part of my visit to Florida, I really wanted a chance to get out onto the water and experience some fun in the sun. After researching a few options, I contacted Tropical Sailing as they offered a ‘Sail and Splash’ package in Fort Lauderdale that sounded ideal; an afternoon at sea in the Florida heat on board a spacious 50-foot long catamaran before coming to a stop to enjoy the “Aquatic Playground”.

I recently wrote an article for Attraction Tix that’s now featured on their blog. It’s a review of Miami’s Hop-on, Hop-off tour bus that serves visitors to the city in Florida seven days a week.
Here’s a snippet of the article:
I recently spent two days exploring the city of Miami using the Miami Hop-On Hop-Off Bus tour. This bus company provides services 7 days a week to take visitors around Miami on two different routes; the city and the beach!
The tour was an extensive hop on, hop off tour which gives you the chance to opt for 24 or 48 hours of sightseeing in the city.
Whether you choose the city or beach route, each tour lasts for 90 minutes in total, giving you plenty of time to take in the views and stop off at as many points as you like, as many times as you like within the validity of your ticket. There is also the option to add a 90-minute boat ride to the homes of the rich and famous, around areas like Fisher Island and Star Island. Continue reading How much of Miami can you see in 48 hours?
A few months ago I was invited to join Miami Culinary Tours on one of Miami’s top rated tours. A South Beach Food Tour.
At the time I had no definite plans to visit Florida. It had crossed my mind but to be honest, I wasn’t sure that the bank balance or the full time job would allow it to really happen… thankfully, I was proven wrong.
After juggling a few things around, my flight was booked and I’d written back to Grace at Miami Culinary Tours to confirm that I would, in fact, be happy to accept a place on the tour. Continue reading South Beach Food Tour with Miami Culinary Tours
