Lalla Nezha Cookery Class, Marrakech, Morocco

SAMSUNG

As I have a keen interest in food and experiencing spices from different continents, it only seemed right to enjoy taking part in a cooking class whilst I was in Morocco.

After some research online I came across details for Lalla Nezha, a woman that seemed to offer a fantastic way of not only providing a recipe but also customing this to suit personal taste and offering complete guidance from start to finish. As I was seeking a truly authentic experience, she appeared to be the best choice – I certainly wasn’t disappointed! Marrakech, Morocco – 3 days – 2 people – 1 objective – EXPOSURE!

In search of a diverse, culture filled break from the UK, I arranged a break to Marrakech in Morocco, North Africa for my boyfriend and I for a long weekend getaway.

Flying with Ryanair from East Midlands direct to Menara Airport (following a two hour delay!)  we arrived in the early evening and were immediately taken aback by the heat of the country. Staying in the Medina at Riad Maison Rouge, Marrakech

View in Riad Maison RougeMy boyfriend and I stayed at Riad Maison Rouge as part of a break to Marrakech in search of sunny weather and good food to maximise the bank holiday break in the UK.

On first impressions, the Riad is tucked away in the back streets of the Medina, making it a little tricky to find but the locals or a good taxi driver can happily show you the way in exchange for small change.

Once inside you’re in a completely different world to the humid exterior. A cool inner-courtyard with lemon trees will welcome you with an open styled roof where we were seated whilst the Manager ran through our booking and served us mint tea which is absolutely delicious.
